MONDAYS: 

 

Manners Class:

 

Mondays @ 6:45 pm

START DATE: September 14, 2026

Length: 6 consecutive weeks 

Cost: $180

 

Dogs are family too - no doubt about it. But even the most beloved pup needs guidance to behave like a well-mannered companion. Our Manners Class teached essential skills that help your dog fit seamlessly into your home life. Youèll master commands like "sit"' "down", "stay", and "come", while also tackling everyday challenges such as leash walking and preventing jumping. For more information, please contact Candice Dawson at candicedawson984@gmail.com

 

 

Competitive Obedience Class:

 

Mondays @ 8:00 pm

Start Date: September 14, 2026

Length: 6 consecutive weeks 

Cost: $180

Obedience & Competitive Training: Tailored to help handlers and dogs transition from basic household manners to advanced ring-ready and competitive skills.

Novice Competitive Obedience Class - Starting Monday September 14th 2026 at 8:00 pm. 6 weeks for $180.00. Current vaccinations are required.

The goal of this class is to prepare students to compete at the Novice Obedience level. Focus will be on the basic skills of attention, heeling, stays, stands, recalls, fronts and finishes. The more advanced students in this class will work on proofing these skills and preparing to compete. The goal of this class is to prepare students to compete at the Novice Obedience level. TUESDAYS:

 

Puppy Class:

The Prince Albert Kennel & Obedience Club (PAKOC) offers positive reinforcement puppy training classes. Classes take place at the Archie Anderson Pavilion on the Exhibition Grounds.

Tuesday nights @ 6:45 pm

START DATE: September 15, 2026

Length: 6 consecutive weeks 

Cost: $180

Eligibility: Geared toward young puppuies, under 6 months of age.

Strict adherence to positive reinforcement and positive motivation. No harsh corrections are used.

Skills Taught: Basic obedience foundations (sit, down, recall). Impulse control and focus on the handler around distractions. Loose leash walking fundamentals.

Scent Detection Classes:

Tuesday nights @ 8:00 pm

Start Date:September 15, 2026

Length: 7 weeks (6 weeks with your dog, first-class humans only)

Cost: $180

Scent detection for dogs is a sport that trains canines to find specific odors, using their powerful sense of smell. It involves teaching a dog to recognize a target scent and alert their handler when it is found through various methods like games or organized competitions. This activity provides mental stimulation and strengthens the bond between a dog and its handler. 

First class will be without dogs. Handlers must bring a crate to class and dog's MUST be able to crate calmly!

WEDNESDAYS:


Agility Classes:

Beginner Agility - Wednesday Nights @ 7:00pm

START DATE: September 16, 2026

Length: 6 weeks

Cost: $180

 

Beginner dog agility classes teach basic handling skills and introduce obstacles like low jumps, tunnels, contact equipment.

What to Expect in Beginner Classes:

Basic Obstacles: Introduction to low jumps, open tunnels, and low planks, contacts on A frame, Dog walk.

Handling and Cues: Learning directional cues (left and right) and body language.

Focus and Control: Maintaining attention around distractions and practicing start-line stays.

Short Sequences: Combining two or three obstacles together in a row.

Prerequisites for Your Dog - Basic Obedience: Reliable sit, stay, down, and recall (come when called). Socialization: Ability to remain calm and friendly around other dogs and people.

Age and Fitness: Dogs must be physically fit; and be 12 months of age.

THURSDAYS:

 

The Prince Albert Kennel & Obedience Club (PAKOC) structures their intermediate and advanced agility programs to transition dogs from basic obstacle familiarity into full, competitive course navigation. All advanced training takes place at the Archie Anderson Pavilion on the Prince Albert Exhibition Grounds

 

Intermediate Agility - Thursday Nights @ 6:45PM

START DATE: September 17th, 2026

Length: 6 weeks

Cost: $180

Intermediate Agility - This level bridges the gap between basic obstacle mechanics and fluid handling.The Focus: Mastering 12-pole weave runs, perfecting contact zone behaviors (A-frame, dog walk, teeter), and building back-side jump positioning.Course Sequencing: Handlers learn to navigate sequences of 6 to 12 obstacles continuously. 

Prerequisite: Successful completion of the PAKOC Beginner Agility.

**Beginner agility class is a pre-requiste for Intermediate Agility**

 

Advanced Agility - Thursday Nights @ 8:00PM

START DATE: September 17th, 2026

Length: 6 weeks

Cost: $180

Advanced Agility - This level is designed for handlers looking to refine high-level communication or enter trial competitions. The Focus: Complex distance handling, cross maneuvers (front, blind, and rear crosses), tight wrap turns, and speed optimization.Course Sequencing: Teams run complete, full-length Agility Association of Canada (AAC) courses.

Prerequisite: Mastery of all intermediate skills, independent weave entries, and reliable off-leash control while sprinting.

* Important Information *
To attend classes your dog must be current on their parvo/distemper and rabies vaccines, and proof of the same must be provided in order to register. We also strongly encourage that dogs have their canine cough (bordetella) vaccine as well, for their safety.
